After a year-long hiatus because of the pandemic the annual Bedford County Home, Garden and Lifestyle show is back this weekend at the Bedford County fairgrounds. New this year the trade show will be adding an outdoors segment.

The trade show starts Saturday at 9am and will wrap up for the day at 5pm and on Sunday it opens at 11am and ends at 4pm.

With hunting season coming up the Beford County Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the home show, wanted to highlight all there is to do outside in the county. There will be programs with hunting experts featuring shooting and tacking along with hunting equipment people can check out. Juniata Trading Company will be at the show to show everyone why people come to Bedford to hunt.

“It's more than just going to the woods and harvesting an animal it's a lot of preparation a lot of equipment that goes into the hunting experience it's not as easy as it looks I mean you're in their environment you're trying to outsmart an animal that's very very intelligent,” Blaine Smith, Juniata Trading Company.

Over a dozen vendors featuring home improvement will also be at the fairgrounds inside Jordan Hall and every vendor is local. Kellie Goodman Shaffer with the Bedford Chamber of Commerce says they hope people will shop local and support the community.

“Local businesses are the lifeblood of our community they support our schools, our church groups, our little league teams and it's up to us as a community to give back and support them as well,” said Kellie Goodman Shaffer with the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce.

Bedford Family Health Centers will be in attendance and have free oral hygiene kits for children. Donations will also be collected for the Bedford County Backpack Project, which provides after school meals for kids in the area.
