Penn State sorority loses recognition over alcohol violations

The Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority has lost its recognition until at least the spring semester of 2022 due to alcohol violations.

University officials said the sorority's national headquarters conducted an investigation and decided to immediate close the Penn State chapter.

Earlier this week, the Zeta Psi fraternity was suspended for the same length after a hazing investigation.

The Alpha Chi Omega sorority was suspended in March, also over hazing accusations.
